NDX:
The NAS100 index is known for its volatility and long-term upward trend. This presents unique opportunities for traders who understand its behavior. This strategy focuses on key concepts like rejections, M and W formations, V formations, and the importance of managing risk due to the index’s volatility. DERIV BROKER DEMO
Understanding Rejections
Rejections occur when the market aggressively moves in one direction (up or down) for at least 8 candles on a 15-minute or 1-hour chart, followed by a sharp reversal. This reversal is your signal to enter a trade in the opposite direction.
- Sell Rejection: If the market aggressively moves down and then spikes back up, this is a sell rejection. Enter a sell trade after the rejection.
- Buy Rejection: If the market aggressively moves up and then spikes back down, this is a buy rejection. Enter a buy trade after the rejection.
M and W Formations
These chart patterns can also signal reversals in the NAS100:
- W Formation: When the market forms a “W” shape with rejections at the bottom of both legs, this is a buy signal.
- M Formation: When the market forms an “M” shape with rejections at the top of both legs, this is a sell signal.
V Formations
V formations are another powerful signal:
- Buy Signal: After an aggressive downward movement, look for a green candle that signals a potential upward reversal. Once the candle closes green, enter a buy trade.
- Sell Signal: The opposite of a V formation, where a red candle after an aggressive upward movement signals a potential sell trade.
Risk Management
Due to the NAS100’s volatility, it’s crucial to manage your risk carefully. Never use a lot size greater than 0.01 when trading this pair.
